Participate in a hands-on learning environment that is both recreational and educational. The outdoors is a living laboratory in which the trees, lakes, deer and frogs may be the objects of study but they are the teachers, as well.

Time and again, classroom teachers have marvelled at the profound effect that an outdoor experience can have on the group and on the specific individuals in the group. Students come away with a terrific experience of fun but teachers applaud the fact that an outdoor experience can also enrich any curriculum, encourage an appreciation for the environment, develop lifelong skills for recreation and enhance social development of individuals within the group.

Every season offers its own gifts and opportunities. Your classroom experience can be enhanced with the unique benefits of a particular season at different Camps or you can select repeat visits to the same Camp and observe the transformations through the seasons.

After the return to school, autumn is a time of laying a foundation for the year ahead. The changes in the natural world are profound as plants and animals prepare for the winter ahead. Hike along leafy trails; absorb the peace of a sun-filled colour palette of leaves; participate in a seasonal study; build a team and prepare for your winter ahead.

The Winter Adventure is like no other! It breaks up the school year perfectly and permits plenty of in-school Preparation/Follow-up. The Canadian winter offers wonderful experiences in physical activity (skiing, snow shoeing, skating) but other winter subjects are just as bountiful. Micro-climate studies, toboggan physics, heritage skills are all great, too. End the day with a cozy campfire and hot chocolate.

The spring marks a new beginning and a time of frenetic activity in both the natural world and in school. For classes looking to round out their year together, there is no better gift than a camping experience. The choices of spring wildflowers, returning birds and emerging wildlife are all accompanied by a release into the spring and summer activities of canoeing, orienteering, swimming, camping and nature study. The Spring Outdoor Adventure can end the year with a life-long school memory celebrated as a class in the outdoors.
